Salem Science Park
Our story

A city that decided to aim higher

Salem Science Park is the city's promise to its children: that science should be something you can walk up to, touch, and fall in love with.

Smart City initiative

Built by the city, for its kids.

Most children in Tamil Nadu finish school having never looked through a real telescope, stood beside a rocket, or felt how sound can travel across a park. The Salem City Municipal Corporation set out to change that.

Under the Government of India's Smart Cities Mission, and with science-park specialists Ankidyne, the Corporation built a 13,000 sq ft science park in Pallapatti, packed with hands-on exhibits and a 30-seat dome planetarium, open to the whole community.

The goal was simple: make science the most exciting thing happening in Salem.

What it stands for

Four beliefs, built into every exhibit

Open to everyone

Built with public funds, for the whole community of Salem to explore and enjoy.

Hands-on, always

Science you can touch, spin, whisper into and be fooled by, not just read about.

For Salem's students

Designed to raise the scientific temper of the city's young minds.

World-class ideas, local home

Big science, right here in Pallapatti, no long journey to a metro needed.
